Internationally acclaimed harpist Lily Neill takes listeners on a journey through the
musical history of the harp! From the 17th century harp players/composers such as
Cornelius Lyons and Turlough O’Carolan through traditional music and Neill’s own
compositions and arrangements, this program explores and embraces the harp’s multifaceted personality.
Lily Neill began her career as a child, performing for the likes of US President Bill
Clinton and alongside Irish super-group, "The Chieftains", whose leader Paddy Moloney
called her a musician of “tremendous promise”. Her original compositions alongside
her dynamic mixture of Irish jigs and reels, Lithuanian dances, Finnish tangos and Tatar
folk songs have enthralled audiences from Chicago to Dublin to Paris to Moscow. Irish
Music Magazine has praised Lily’s “…musical and artistic freedom which is boundless
in its possibility and contagious in its energy and passion."
“…superb music”.
